Head of Digital and Emerging Care Transformation, Penn Medicine

Christina J. O’Malley, MHA is passionate about making lasting, sustainable change in health care and is experienced in scaling innovative care models by working in lockstep with clinical and operational health system partners. As an innovation and transformation leader at Penn Medicine, she guides teams in identifying the root cause of their health care challenges, crafting novel digital or care redesign solutions, and implementing innovations that span multiple specialties and sites of care. 

Christina drives teams to develop care innovations that improve both health and business outcomes, with a focus on improving the care team experience along the way. Prior experience leading health system strategy and operations for digital health, including the development of a 24/7 virtual urgent care model in 2015, the rapid scaling of telehealth programs during the COVID-19 public health emergency, and the co-development of custom software solutions for practitioners and support staff, inform her expertise in launching new care models and solutions in complex environments. 

Christina’s professional journey also includes experience as a health care consultant, where she advised senior health insurance leaders on strategy and digital transformation.

She holds a Master of Health Administration from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in human development and psychological services from Northwestern University.
