Learning Online

Courses are tailored for busy professionals seeking to address health care challenges.

  • Framed by start and end dates, Professional Development online courses provide a flexible yet motivating structure. Courses are organized to build your skills each week, culminating in final project deliverables. The pressure of grading is removed by a pass/no-pass system, and exercises are evaluated on a professional scale: “highly skilled,” “skilled,” or “needs development.”

Videos, readings, discussions, practice activities, and assignments are available to fit your learning to your schedule. Weekly deadlines provide structure. And even though they are asynchronous, courses are interactive. Successful participation requires actively engaging with ideas from course materials and with the other health care professionals in your class.

In a typical course week, you will spend about 6 to 8 hours:

    • Watching brief lecture videos.
    • Reading authoritative articles.
    • Analyzing and applying course concepts, and learning from your classmates, in discussion forums.
    • Synthesizing your knowledge in practice activities.

Courses also include opportunities to pose questions or reflections for instructors to address in a recorded video, without having to set aside time in your crowded schedule.

If you want to dive deeper into studying and applying these areas, with more networking and faculty interaction, consider the Master of Health Care Innovation degree.
